39 Powerful SWOT Analysis Templates & Examples

SWOT Analysis involves Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. It is a well-planned strategy that is mostly used by businesses or people to become successful. The strength means that you should always look within yourself (in the case of an individual) or within the business (in the case of business) to find what you are really good at. After you establish your strengths, you should magnify them and use them to your advantage. This case also applies to your weaknesses. Look within yourself and identify your weaknesses, then turn them into your strengths and use them to your advantage. When you are done with the internal analysis, identify the external opportunities and threats. Below is a detailed description of SWOT Analysis.

Strengths

As stated above, strengths can be found from within. They are helpful towards achieving your set objectives. For example, if you are a good communicator, you can identify that as your strength. You can then use it during negotiations with potential clients. Identifying your strengths will help you go further in your quest for success. Once you have identified your strengths, take time to think about how you can maximize on them and then utilize them to your advantage.

Weakness

Your weaknesses are also part of the SWOT Analysis and they can also be found within yourself. Make a critical analysis of yourself and figure our honestly what are your weaknesses that actually hinder your way to success. Don’t feel shy to accept them if you want success in true meanings. After you have accepted your weaknesses, it is now time to analyze and see whether you are in apposition to improve on them or not. For example, if your weaknesses are waking up very late, then you can improve on it by sleeping early enough and setting alarms to wake you up. However, if you cannot change them, you can either embrace them or turn them into your strengths.

Opportunities

Strengths and weaknesses both originate from the internal analysis. The external analysis involves identifying opportunities around you that can help you achieve your set targets. For example, if you are a good singer, you can look for opportunities around you like enrolling in a music school or taking part in singing competitions in order to nurture your talents and in the end achieve your set targets. Opportunities are very many out there, and if you cannot find any that best suits your needs, then you should create one for yourself.

Threats

Threats are also part of the external origin in the SWOT Analysis. This is because they result from the opportunities around you. Threats are the elements which have a negative effect on your opportunities. For example, when running a business (thus it is an opportunity), and one of your employees start to secretly embezzle your funds, then this can be viewed as a threat to your business. Another example is when you decide to start fishing (you have identified an opportunity) but then there is a sewage nearby. The sewage is a threat to you because it cab result to the death of the fish and thus your opportunity will be negatively affected.
